About ADHD Pathways Australia
ADHD Pathways Australia is an independently operated information resource about the ADHD assessment and diagnosis pathway in Australia, built to help people understand the difference between the psychologist pathway and the psychiatrist pathway before they book an appointment. It is run by an editorial team, not a clinic, and does not diagnose, treat or employ any clinician.
How the site is put together
Every statistic on this site is sourced to a specific, named publication: the official Medicare Benefits Schedule, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme, state and territory health department pages, the Australian ADHD Professionals Association's national clinical guideline, healthdirect Australia, and university or peer-reviewed reporting. Each cited figure links to that source directly, and states its own scope (national average, one state's rules, or one study's sample) rather than blending different scopes into a single number. Where we could not verify a figure against one of these sources, we left it out rather than estimate it.
Content is reviewed for AHPRA-consistent language: we describe psychologists as "registered psychologists" rather than "clinical psychologists" unless a specific endorsement is being discussed, and we do not publish outcome or success claims, rankings, or testimonials about any provider.
What this site is not
ADHD Pathways Australia is an independent, editorially-run information resource. It is not a clinic and does not diagnose, treat or provide medical advice. Content here is general information only, sourced and cited where a figure is stated, and is not a substitute for a formal assessment by a registered psychologist, psychiatrist or paediatrician. Always seek individual advice from a qualified professional about your own situation.
This site does not maintain a public database of provider names, addresses or phone numbers. If you use the enquiry form, your details are passed to a provider serving your area so they can contact you directly; the site itself does not perform an assessment or give you a diagnosis.
Editorial ownership
ADHD Pathways Australia is published and edited by its own editorial team. It operates independently, is not affiliated with any government department, professional body, or the providers it may connect you with, and does not accept payment from any provider in exchange for coverage.
